Water color of tee-pees and Indian man

For the last 10 years or more I’ve been watching the auctions, Craig’s List, galleries, and using Google Alerts, for a reasonably priced Heinie Hartwig painting with at least one tee-pee in it. I saw one in person a long time ago and was totally taken with it. Needless to say, an affordable one hasn’t surfaced, though I’ve seen a couple come up at Auctions By the Bay or on Live Auctioneers, but none that were the painting I’ve been dreaming of, if the price was low enough to consider.

We also have alerts/searches out there for an artist you’ve seen a few times in this blog (one with a shelter, and the original one from Indian market), Yellowman. Hard times bring out a lot of interesting stuff at very low prices.

Last week we grabbed another Yellowman, a triplex of 2×3 inch highly detailed water colors, for the price of an inexpensive night out for two. And it has tee-pees, including one in a great landscape. So thrilled with it that I now can live without a Hartwig…

FYI – Indian artists aren’t the only ones we have auto search/alerts running for. Other’s include: Bertha Perrie, Kirchmyer, Dietrellin, Dirk Smit, Alice Winn, Maria Bakush, Claude Howell, Cucaro (-circus/-clown), Robert Hopkin, Martin Munoz snow globe (I just love them, but too expensive), and so forth. It’s a great way to see what rotates by for sale, new to a museum, in a showing, or just something someone else posted to their blog.
